Formative review 2

This week we where invited to hand in sketchbooks and work in progress for an end of year review.

In just the short time that I have been studying at Gray's I cannot believe how much I have learned or how greatly the seminar programme has influenced my work. My accomplishments to date have far outstripped my expectations:

1. A collaboration with the composer David Ward which will be shown at The Woodend Barn in Banchory as part of the September 2017 Sound Festival.
   
2. Acceptance of a drawing and piece of writing for inclusion to the publication 'The Art of Pathology.
   
3. A one woman show at The Meffan Institute to showcase my Masters work in 2018.
   
4. The dry plate workshop at Streetlevel Photoworks not only provided me with the skills to experiment in glass plate photography but also enabled me to make new connections with practicing visual artists.
   
   

The May assessment has been helpful in that it has forced me reflect on my progress to date and as a result I have drawn up a plan of the practical work that I wish to produce for my Masters show:

• Expeiments in dry plate photography
• Slumping found glass from beach for dry plate photography
• Mixed media works of found objects
• Painting record of finds
• A film that will lead on from our task from Charlie
• ​Message in a bottle project – sending messages in bottles from various locations

For all my practical work I have sourced equipment and materials. What I need to bring up to speed is my dissertation: exploring and deciding upon a working title and searching for texts.
